.ACCOMMODATION for the Letterheads event

The first forty people to register will have accommodation included, for no charge, if they wish to camp down in the Shearer's Quarters.

The Shearer's Quarters area has several rather spartan rooms, mostly with four beds, but there are a couple with two, and a couple with more than four beds, totalling 40 beds. You WILL need to bring your own linen, pillows and blankets, (or a swag) and towel etc, or we/the woolshed can supply them for $15 per bed for the whole weekend, which includes pillow, sheets, blankets and a towel.

Alternatively, you are welcome to camp in the back of your car/ute/van on the same site, or bring a caravan, or you can borrow a tent onsite- for no charge- they frequently have schools staying on the complex, so there are several 2-person tents available to us- you'll need a camping mattress though, or a swag. Erecting the tent with its chinese instructions is a great mental exercise!

Beside the shearers' quarters is an earthen-floor cookhouse with fridge, tables, cutlery etc, a campfire, kettles, wood-fired stove, gas BBQ, and lots of great atmosphere for singing, chatting & bragging!. It is where all the 300 plus volunteers stay and eat during the famous Heritage Festival they hold every August. There are also showers, toilets, etc, and assorted power points for caravans.

This is about 400 metres from where we'll be working.

Alternate accommodation is available at the Jondaryan Hotel 07 - 4692 2202, which is 3 km away. Rooms, per night, are $40 for a double, or $30 for one person using a twin bed room, or $25 each for two people sharing a twin or two bed room. You will need to make your own bookings with them.

Alternately, Oakey township which is 12 km away, has several motels. We will try and arrange transport for those who may need it.

Kellys Motel www.Kellysmotel.com have 11 rooms, and you can look at their website for details, or telephone Barry on 07 - 4691 1109. Prices start at $75 for a single room, per night, $85 for a double, and they have three bed rooms and family rooms too.
